Blessings to all, and welcome ohm once again. This Moon brings us an ohm coming Boogiewall Soundsystem show, a JUNO Nomination for Odel's Mind & Body Sold, a collective meal to help clean-up landmines in Africa, the benefits of Kundalini Yoga, the wisdom of Pacal Votan, the annointing healing oils of the Walking Master of Love, and the Jaguar teaches us not to fear the darkness.
We would like to also thank the international players of instruments that were part of Odel's performance at the Ragga Muffins Festival on Sunday Feb 19 at the Ragga Muffins Festival in Long Beach and Odel and TK2000s our show at the Knitting Factory Bluebeat Lounge with TK2000 and Odel: Tony "Rebeltone" Barrett on Lead Guitar, Eric Walsh of Messenjah fame on Rhythm Guitar, Aboubass Coulibaly from the Alpha Blondy Band on Bass, Jawge Hughes from the Fully Fullwood on Keys, Dorrell "Fish" Salmon on additional Keys and our very own O'Neil Fuller on Drums.
We were very grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Night of a 1000 Dinners hosted by the Rotary Club in conjunction with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 344 in Etobicoke, Ontario on March 01, 2006. This day marked the 7 Year anniversary celebration of the Ottawa Treaty to ban the manufacturing, sale and use of anti-personnel landmines.
We were lucky enough to sample a Matata Clam Stew from Mozambique as well as Grilled Afghani Kebobs, Bosnian Fried Aubergine, Cambodian Green Mango Salad as well as Nicaraguan Rice Pudding and Vietnamese Chuoi Chung. These foods from around the world brought attention to some of the most affected landmine regions of the world, and we'd like to congratulate the Rotary Club for their thoughtful landmine presentations all night.
We felt very honoured for the opportunity to bring our Reggae Music to this event and work togeher alongside other dedicated organizations and individuals that have realized their purpose and are helping to make the world landmine free.
Kundalini Yoga is said to be the most powerful and effective form of yoga. It stimulates optimal health and a radiant sense of well being with simple yogic techniques that can be practised by anyone.
Until recent years, Kundalini Yoga was the almost exclusive domain of yogis in the far-off Himalayas and India. In 1968, Yogi Bhajan, famous for his quote: "If you can't see God in All, you can't see God at all", began to teach this powerful, health-giving science to the West. The fun thing about Kundalini Yoga is that it is considered to be a self-healing arts and can get you into good shape faster than you can think about it.
During the height of the Classic Maya civilization, Lord Pacal Votan ruled the empire of Nah Chan Palenque (in present day Chiapas, Mexico), for 52 years. Known as a magician of time, he understood mathematics, or numbers, as a type of language that transcends the subjectivity of human verbal experience. His sentiment "All is number. God is a number. God is in All." is an intriguing way to catalogue the Maya's message that we are intimately linked with and informed by the Galaxy. All of life is ordered by the same basic, re-occurring patterns. There has been a steady drive for a world wide calendar change starting with the League of Nations because it brings into focus that Time is a Frequency, a frequency of synchronization. Some of the more famous people that have preferred the Equal 13 Moon Calendar were Albert Einstein, Emporer Selassie of Ethopia, Lord Buddha and Master Jesus because the 13 Moon - 28 Day Calendar honours the fertility cycles of Mother Nature and Planet Earth.
Speaking of Master Jesus, more Good News from the herbal kingdom! Apart from being a proponent of the 13 Moon - 28 Day Calendar, Jesus was almost certainly a cannabis user and an early proponent of the medicinal properties of Cannabis, according to a study of scriptural texts. The study suggests that Jesus and his 12 disciples used Cannabis to carry out miraculous healings.
"There can be little doubt about a role for cannabis in Judaic religion," Carl Ruck, professor of classical mythology at Boston University said. Referring to the existence of cannabis in anointing oils used in ceremonies, he added: "Obviously the easy availability and long-established tradition of cannabis in early Judaism - would inevitably have included it in the [Christian] mixtures." "Then the Lord said to Moses, "Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of qhaneh-bosm, 500 shekels of cassia - all according to the sanctuary shekel - and a hind of olive oil. Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil." Exodus 30:23 Mr. Bennett suggests those anointed with the oils used by Jesus were "literally drenched" in this potent mixture. Although most modern people choose to smoke or eat pot, when its active ingredients are transferred into an oil-based carrier, it can also be absorbed through the skin". Quoting the New Testament, Mr. Bennett argues that Jesus anointed his disciples with the oil and encouraged them to do the same with other followers. This could have been responsible for the healing of eye and skin diseases referred to in the Gospels. " The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me ... " - Isaiah 61:1 "If cannabis was one of the main ingredients of the ancient anointing oil - and receiving this oil is what made Jesus the Christ and his followers Christians, then persecuting those who use cannabis could be considered anti-Christ," Mr. Bennett concludes.

Jaguar carries with him/her a long history in the lore and mythology of several indigenous cultures. In particular, the Mayans held the Jaguar in high esteem, viewing this spotted panther as the Totem Spirit of the Sky God. According to Mayan beliefs, the journey of the sun across the sky and the darkness of night stood for the eternal journey of human consciousness and its transformations. The sun at midday was compared to the Eagle, flying high in the sky. Then it plunges below the horizon, just as we plunge into the dark where we face our spiritual challenges and are transformed. The hidden sun was said to be Jaguar, whose spotted skin symbolized the stars glittering in the night sky. Thus, it was called the "Jaguar Sun." Jaguar is the earth father. As earth father, he presides over the sacred power in the earth and the animals who live upon it. The force that lives within the mountains, which gives them their volcanic and transformative power, is the same underworld source of power and energy as the Jaguar Sun. The Mayan word for Jaguar is IX (pronounced eesh). Jaguar's Wisdom Includes: Seeing the roads within chaos; Understanding the patterns of chaos; Moving without fear in the darkness; Facilitating soul work; Empowering oneself; Moving in unknown places; Shapeshifting and Psychic Vision!

Last moonth the Red Hawk reminded us of the Kundalini energy, so let's take a closer look at how we can easily and effectively keep our bodies flexible and young so we can realize our physical purpose as well.
The anointing oil used by Jesus and his disciples contained an ingredient called kaneh-bosem which has since been identified as cannabis extract, according to an article by Chris Bennett in High Times. The incense used by Jesus in ceremonies also contained a cannabis extract, suggests Mr. Bennett, who quotes scholars to back his claims.
