Blessings to all, and welcome ohm. Just a short newsletter this month, as we return from our trip to Hopiland and California.
It was such an honour being amongst the Hopi for the Water Is Life Festival, and both Odel and Boogiewall Soundsystem had an amazing time performing that night. The Hopis, which means good, peaceful, or wise (Hopis call themselves Hopitu, meaning "peaceful ones," or Hopitu-shinumu, "peaceful all people") are amomgst the oldest living tribes in America, and consider themselves to be intensly spiritual and fiercly independent (which apparently often translates into a love for dancing to Reggae Music)! Boogiewall Soundsystem got to perform their brand new track "The River" live for the very first time in front of a very appreciative Hopi audience from the various tribes, and indeed much dancing was enjoyed throughout the evening. "The River" is a song dedicated to the messages of the Hopi Elders, and we're planning to go into the studio soon to record "The River" as a single, which is planned for release in the very near future, so stay tuned!
